I am chameleon, I easily adapt into any profession within my domain possessing great technical and analytical skills. Having background in fine art which am self taught took me into a journey of wanting to study graphic design. Later on i decided to join Rosebank college doing Diploma in computer based graphic development, that is where i enhanced my analytical skills. It only takes my warm personality and smile to know am team player. As now am in this exciting space of creatives at Umuzi doing web developing, which is new adventure that is challenging but am loving it so far.
This is process I use to get to know what the user would like to get from me as design and developer. Empathy is especially important in the first stage of any Design Thinking process. The first stage in Design Thinking that is always used at Umuzi is “empathy”.
I begin my design process by structuring a low-res wireframe which serves as my Skeleton or blueprint moving forward. Once I have a clear path and me designated design goals - I move on to structuring and compiling a high-res wire frame. Complete with the clients chosen colour pallette, font and imagery. Throughout this process, I pay careful attention to the steps I outline in my low-res wire frame in order to capture the desired User Interface and Experience.
I am most comfortable with using Sublime as my Text Editor when coding. There is nothing new under the sun so i believe that there is nothing wrong with consulting Google when I am faced with a building challenge I cannot overcome. However plagiarism goes against my work ethics - the only person I’d be cheating is myself
Conventionally, all projects are launched on GitHub but for the convenience of the client or viewer I’d make use of Heroku; a Cloud Application Platform because it offers a User Friendly interface Lauch the beautiful work for the whole world to see in GitHub or for it to be live in Heroku.
Setting guidelines and consistency. Whether the product is a person, image, or an item, consistency exhibits, and product. All the components related to a product, service, company, or person is “brand identity.” Some of these items are the name, logo, tone, tagline, typeface, and shape that create an appeal.
This is skill that i posess from studying Graphic Design at College, With the skill i can sketch drawings and then scan them to work on them on Illustartor to look beautiful and colorful designs.
Designing graphic elements and building navigation components. I have experience with design software and wireframe tools. Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps. Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets.
Combining the art of design with the art of programming using Html, CSS3, and JavaScript and the JQuery libraries. The translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. Bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
